Talk About Chockablock!
It’s been super busy with the last few weeks of our studies, but we’re showing no signs of slowing down! We’re already finding a new client and this time we’re working in the charity and social enterprise sector. We found a local charity called St John’s Winchester, who told us it was perfect timing for a promotional video! You can check out this project in our portfolio.
A Local Charity
St John’s Winchester aim to provide an inspirational community where older people are empowered and enabled to live full and rich lives through quality care and support, housing and friendship. St John’s is one of the country’s oldest charities with a long history of supporting people of limited means. They provide care to around 150 older people who choose to make St John’s Winchester their home.
After meeting with the Director of the charity, we discovered their need for a promotional video. They wanted to showcase what the charity has on offer as well as highlight it’s importance in the community. We discussed with them what kind of content they wanted filmed and for what purpose. This gave us a framework to then go ahead with filming the many events going on at the charity and to interview the staff and residents to tell their stories and share their experiences of the charity.

Knowing the purpose of the video before filming really helped us to ask the right questions when interviewing our subjects and in turn greatly improved the possibilities in the edit. Our client was able to tell the story they wanted, and we made sure we covered everything in their brief. St John’s were delighted with the result and are using it on their website as well as at fundraising events, hoping to increase support in their time of growth. We wish them all the best!
